About Wolves
Wolves are an endangered species that might become extinct. Wolves are related to other animals that include domestic dogs, coyotes, jackals, and dingoes.
Wolves might look like domestic dogs but a closer look reveals many differences. A wolf is built for running and is slimmer than most dogs and its body and head are longer. Wolves also have longer legs and blockier feet.
Special features help wolves survive in the wild. The size of wolves can be different. In the northern part wolves usually grow larger and might have thicker fur and bigger feet.
The life span of a wolf in captivity can be 11-12 years some wolves have even lived 17 years. Many biologists believe that that the life of a wolf is shorter because of the dangers.
Wolves can smell very well they can identify animals up to 1.5 miles away that is how they might locate their prey. A wolf has 42 teeth; they are good for hunting. They are large and sharp ideal for hunting and holding prey they can even crack open bones!
